Specialist week dates. 2012

We run a few special weeks throughout the season.

The start of which will be an improvers week running 21-28  April. Inbetween these weeks starting 24th March, we are open as a training base for you on a date of your choice, subject to availability.

 Please note that we like to tailor make our camps/holidays to suit you so if you don't see a date or camp that suits give us a ring and if we can, we will schedule another camp especially for you.

Triathletes Beginner week 7 or 10 days  

Sign up for one of our Beginner weeks. They are for anyone wanting to find out about the basics of Triathlon and improve further on the skills they've already got. During these weeks, All 4 Triathlon disciplines will be covered within a well structured and manageable training load. We will also include sessions on strength and conditioning, open water swim training and techniques, transition techniques, Nutritional advice and tips,Total kit maintenance.

Triathlete Improver specialist week 7 or 10 days

Join us on one of our  improver weeks to discover everything you didn't all ready know about triathlon.

Brush up on techniques already learned, collect great tips for transition, learn all about strength training for triathlon, Get to grips with open water swimming in varied locations and situations, improve you bike efficiency. Improve running times with quality workouts. Touch up on a bit more bike maintenance. We can also design a training plan for you to use and go home with. Find out how to manage your training around your busy lifestyle and how to reach your goals.

Intermediate-Advanced- training Weeks.

We've teamed up with Ironmate Mark Kleanthous on these intensive training weeks.

The emphasis on these weeks will be on educating the Athlete to get the most from themselves in the allotted time they have. 

You will be shown  techniques to get  fitter and stronger over the week. The course will cover power and strength training techniques across all 3 disciplines that will help with overall efficiency and endurance. Time will be spent coaching individually, giving the athlete plenty of techniques to take away with them  to work and improve with in preparation for their chosen distance. 

Ultimately you will receive a personalised training plan to follow on your return home to fully absorb your training skills learned during the week.

The swimming is excellent with warm open water training at the lakes, superb running from your door and quiet roads to cycle, lots of great food to fuel you up for the next days training, discover why people are choosing Tri-topia.

Ladies Specific camp  12-19 May 2012

We've teamed up with Tri Girl and BTA coaches Jo Lewis and Beate Vogt to bring you an exclusive training camp especially designed to give female athletes the confidence and specific skills needed to enjoy triathlon no matter what level they aspire to. Women have different strengths and weaknesses, these can be trained  to achieve far greater results this coming season.

The camp  will cover all disciplines. Swimming in open water takes practice and confidence. We have carefully selected the best rivers and lakes perfect for this. Wetsuits are available for you to hire if you don't have one.

Biking on the quiet roads around Tri-topia is excellent for building your confidence .You can try clip less pedals in the safety of the gardens  and learn basic bike maintenance like changing a tyre and fixing a puncture. We learn how to set up and use a turbo trainer, proper use of your gears and bike nutrition.

Run on beautiful country trails learning efficient running form at a speed to suit all abilities within the group.Transition techniques will be covered and explained and you'll have a chance to ask all those important questions however embarrassing you think they are helping you towards a better race this coming season. All in the company of other female athletes.

Specialist race/event weeks.

Open to everyone who would like to include an event during their stay here with us. These weeks are run from Wednesday to Wednesday so that you are free to compete at the weekend. We have selected a few of our favorites to choose from. Those with their own cars  can follow , others will come with us. We will arrange your entries put on a pasta party the night before and provide a great race morning breakfast.

Prices is depending on your package plan (see prices) and race entry will be an extra.

Specialist Swim Clinics  Sat 28 July - 4 August  2012

We've teamed up with Graham Harris aka " Mr Arris". (Masters) 18 x GB National titles, multiple silver and bronze medalist at Euro & World Championships, 2001 GB & European Masters Record Holder. (50m & 100m. backstroke)

With swimming being the most technically demanding part of the triathlon, the principal goal of your week with us will be to return to your home pool looking and feeling like a far more competent and efficient swimmer than when you left. This week is geared towards improving your technique and learning drills rather than piling on the miles, (this can be done at home!).

You will also experience open water swimming at one of the many delightful lakes in the region and river swims with backup canoe alongside.

Transition from swim to bike will also feature, plus tips on fast wetsuit removal, nutrition, hydration and recovery.

Pool swimming on these clinics will be based in Grahams private 20m heated outdoor pool , at his residence just 5 mins away from Tri-topia. With trips to the river and lakes to really get to practice your pool learned technique in open water, they'll be plenty of time to combine cycling and running too.

Throughout the week there will be video analysis and  one-to-one coaching, with plenty of time over evening meals to talk over the days events.

Ironman Training weeks.

Our long distance courses are, again this year being coached by Mark kleanthous or you may know him as "Ironmate".We are once again pleased to be working with Mark, his weeks really will be something that will inspire and push you to the next level, the long distance weeks will be tough and it is necessary to be of suitable fitness.

If preparing for your first iron man or if you’re a multi iron man finisher I can’t elaborate enough just how much Mark will influence your training and racing, If anyone knows how to help you achieve your goals, 30 x Ironman 2 x double 1 x triple finisher Mark Kleanthous can.
